We were delighted to work with a local charity The Clubhouse Project earlier in the year to design and build their Weybridge allotment. The Clubhouse Project is an Addlestone charity local to our Clifton Nurseries Surrey branch that provides life skills for young adults with learning disabilities – they wanted their allotment to be a hub of green-fingered experiences, from growing fruits and vegetables for the kitchen to a sensory garden for a quiet space.
Our own Clifton Nurseries Garden Design and Landscaping team enjoyed designing and creating the space for The Clubhouse Project and it was a pleasure to see their design and hard work fully come to life at the 'official' opening ceremony.
The ceremonial ribbon for the opening of The Clubhouse Project allotment was cut by the special star guest, CBBC’s Dave Benson Philips – much to the excitement of the young adults as Dave is regarded highly for his hit TV show 'Get Your Own Back'. Many of the local community joined in on the celebrations and the design was admired by all – especially the occupiers of the other allotments who now all want their own allotments designed! Read our previous news article for more information about the allotment design and transformation.
We are so pleased to hear all at The Clubhouse Project love their newly designed allotment and we would like to thank them for making us a gorgeous ‘Thank You’ canvas – it now hangs in pride of place in our Surrey Design and Landscaping office!
