This is a fast growing plant with stems that can reach a height of 20ft or more. Also known as Fruit Salad Plant, Swiss Cheese Plant, Monster Fruit and Mexican Breadfruit.

Light
Keep in good light, but not direct sunlight, i.e. moderate brightness.

Water
Keep the soil moist from November to March, but be careful that it does not become waterlogged. Water thoroughly for the rest of the year, but allow the surface of the compost to dry between watering.

Temperature
It requires a temperature of between 20-30ºC (68-86ºF). Growth will cease below 10ºC (50ºF) and frost will kill it. It prefers high humidity. Flowering is rare when grown indoors.

Feed
Feed monthly with a liquid fertiliser. It is not necessary to feed any more than this.

Repot
Repot only every two years in the spring.

Pruning
If the plant gets too tall, you can remove the growing tip in the summer at a point below an aerial root.
