Boat House Garden

This beautiful garden consists of a series of gardens, each with a different style, including a Japanese style riverside garden with dry river bed, a stunning herbaceous border backed by a staggered hornbeam hedge, and an exuberant native wildflower meadow within a raised bed.

Being adjacent to the river, one of the preconditions was that all planting had to tolerate flooding. As a result the olive trees in the iconic terrace area were placed in pots to raise them above the flood level.

The end result was a stunning riverside garden that is much loved by its owners and everybody who sees it.
