Originates on both sides of the Atlantic. It is known as the Octopus Tree because of its spectacular tentacle-like flowers. Unfortunately, it does not bloom under room conditions and the indoor plant form is known as the Umbrella plant, which refers to the finger-like glossy leaflets radiating like umbrella spokes from each leaf stalk.

Bright light, away from direct sunlight.
Water
Water liberally from spring to autumn, sparingly in the winter. Mist leaves frequently.
Temperature
Average warmth; not less than 13ºC (55ºF).
Repot
Repot every 2 years in the spring.
Propagation
Difficult. Stem cuttings in summer; use Bio Roota and bottom heat. Alternatively sow fresh seeds in the spring.
