Andrea Merendi (Faenza, Italy, 1961) is a renowned designer, stylist and paper artist who has combined his floral knowledge with a strong poetic streak to create bespoke paper flowers. For London Craft Week he has partnered up with MADEINBRITALY to conceive a site-specific installation of ad hoc created still life compositions in dialogue with the gallery space at MADEINBRITALY with additional installations at Clifton Nurseries London. Andrea Merendi is inspired by nature and uses this inspiration to create completely innovative elements: his flowers are not just copies of natural flowers, they're brand new objects with their own life, sharing with their natural counterparts the beauty and the crystalline perfection that only the transience of time can give.
