London gardens come in all shapes and sizes, and with a variety of challenges. This garden stepped up steeply
from the house, requiring careful planning of the hard landscape and planting. A large tree house and play
space needed to be accommodated in such a way as to make sure the children could enjoy the garden as much as possible
without it dominating every view from the house. And of course with any family garden comes the challenge of
making it accessible year round, even in the wet winter months.
Light coloured paving and wall finishes helped
to reduce the impact of the level changes to the house, along with a Mediterranean style terrace planting and
loose, cottage garden planting elsewhere.
